The hosts, Peter and Gloria were fully prepared, with their spacious home inside and outside. You would notice that the house was remodeled from the neat garage to each room of the house. The rectangular yard housed a blue tent where an array of food servers were lined up and the barbeque set for the chef. What looked so noticeable to an artist eye were the fresh, beautiful flower arrangements with the touch of Gloria’s hands. As the Nor-Cal visitors came in the afternoon, the party was in full swing. You see the energetic DI’s, couple Renato and Lorinda Dizon leading the dance, teaching and encouraging others to join in. Nida Sampang Alexiou arrived with her husband Taso all the way from Indiana. She was visiting her relatives in California, so she brought her 3 sisters, Priscilla, Cristy and Dolly with her for us to meet. Lolit Pangilinan came with her sister, Tess Gomez who was visiting from Chicago and together with the other Nor-Cals car-pooled, with Frank ( June) Yabut as chauffer.

Just like the previous meetings we had, this was a joyful event. It was an event where we shook off our tensions and stress of life to be with our age group, like high school kids again having fun, accepting each other without prejudice, malice or pride and true to the ideals of the organization, namely: unity, help and love.

The meeting ended after past two hours.

More line dancing instructions inside the spacious and neatest garage (what a fun exercise!), karaoke
singing, card games. One memory that we will not forget was our own host, Gloria in the kitchen who
captivated the ladies’ attention with her inspiring life and love story sprinkled with her deep faith and good
sense of humor. The couple is blessed with 2 children.

Lolita Pangilinan delivered her tearful gratitude for the generosity of our batchmates; a prayer and family
need she did not expect to be granted that time. This is what this organization is all about. Charity (love)
begins at home and we there present, are brothers and sisters with HAU as our alma mater HOME binding us
together into one solid family.

The Nor-Cal group would like to thank the hosts for their warm hospitality. We stayed for the night, went to
the nearest church the next day, Sunday, October 8 and then proceeded to the La Naval fiesta in Lynnwood.

Dacal a dacal a salamat, Peter and Gloria Venzon!
A picture is worth a thousand words so thanks to Carlos Sicat who captured the event in his camera.
To our batchmates who read our website, we invite you to come and join our US family.

LAUS DEO SEMPER!
